Canva Tips + Shortcuts

Do you already use Canva for your business and your social media?

Canva, I believe we can all agree, is a lifesaver when it comes to quickly creating graphics for your business. It makes graphic design a breeze, even for those with little design experience, thanks to the vast number of templates available and the user-friendly interface.

If you’re new to canva, you can use the following tips:

1. USE KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS FOR COMMONLY USED ELEMENTS

You may use these keyboard shortcuts to easily access elements you use often rather than looking for them. Simply press R (for rectangle), C (for circle), L (for line), and T (for triangle) (for text).

Here are some useful shortcuts you can use:

2. MOVE ELEMENTS TOGETHER

If you have a number of elements to move, rather than moving them one by one, you can group them together and move them all at once. To do so, hold down SHIFT and click on each of the elements; then, right click then select “Group,” or press Ctrl+G and the elements will be grouped. These will then move together as a single unit. If required, you can also repeat it.

3. FREELY MOVE ELEMENTS

Because of Canva's automatic alignment feature, it can be difficult to move elements exactly where you want them. You can drag items around with your mouse while holding down the SHIFT key, which prevents Canva from automatically aligning your picture if you only need to move them a small amount.

5. CHANGE ALL THE COLORS IN A DESIGN AT THE SAME TIME

There is an easy way to change all colors on a template from blue to your brand color if you are working on a template. Select the elements you want to change color and hold + SHIFT then change it to the color you want.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions about Canva. I’d love to hear from you!
